“employees are not eligible for paid COVID leave to care for a family member who has tested positive or a child who is home due to school closure.” What a dark sentence

“We’d rather you came in sick and infected your co-workers and to encourage that, we’ll not pay you to stay at home and keep them safe”

You’d best start believing in cyberpunk dystopias, Miss Turner. You’re in one.

I was one of the incredibly lucky ones where I got COVID 2 years ago, got the paid time off, and my only symptoms were being tired and irritable so it was more like a vacation!

I’m always tired and irritable so I’m constantly taking COVID tests now lol

In an even darker reality when corporations are able to pressure the CDC to change their guidelines to reduce business expenses at the cost of human suffering.

I don’t think anyone does. Even the community’s description just says “People tweeting stuff. We allow tweets from anyone.” so I’m not really getting the point either.

This community exists because people just had to copy over every single piece of bullshit from reddit.

I’ve said it a couple of times already but…shut this community down and merge with microblogmemes

            Needlessly segregated.

I get why it existed on reddit after BPT locked their stuff down but there is really NO reason for it here at all.

Lol. “I don’t like this, so it should be shut down!”. What an entitled comment. Demanding everyone post only the content you want instead of, you know, just ignoring it.

The Fediverse exists to spite people like you. People are free to make any community they want here. Deal with it.

I don’t agree with their messaging but they do have a point. I also agree with you as well though. Redundant communities are just the price of admission here.

On the other hand I think that it’s healthy to have a few redundant communal spaces to facilitate them growing in different directions. They’ll likely acquire more discernable character as time passes. And this in turn will hopefully catalyse content within them.

Think of it in terms of ballgames. Several different ballgames have evolved and refined themselves into highly skilled, entertaining spectacles. Crudely you could say that these games favor differing body types and skill sets and therefore afford more opportunities to a wider range of people to express themselves. If we had insisted on only one ball game, then only the most popular (at the outset) would have survived. I can’t see the Shaqs, or Tiger Woods, or Serena Williams of this world making it in soccer.

              Eh…I’m waffling.

It’s a useless separation. Give me your reasoning for why we need a segrated community and I’ll reconsider

No. Your consideration has no bearing on the matter.
