Image is of a Hezbollah missile attack on a military camp west of Jenin.

The situation between Hezbollah and Israel is rapidly escalating, with massive bombing campaigns on southern Lebanon by Israel predominantly on civilians (as the tunnels in South Lebanon are mostly unreachable to the Zionists, just like in Gaza), while Hezbollah and its allies respond with missile attacks predominantly on Israeli military facilities. Israel is spreading an evacuation order to the residents of southern Lebanese villages while also bombing their routes of escape and civilian infrastructure, similar to a terror tactic used widely in Gaza.

Northern Israel is currently under military censorship to hide their losses, so we get very little information other than what the Resistance provides and what videos and images get through the censors.

I don’t know if Israel will dare a ground incursion soon, but it seems fairly likely in the coming days or weeks.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

    Говорит Шестиугольный Медведь!

    Сообщение Совинформбюро!

    Hi!

I’m here to publish the list of proposals, made both by the mod team in internal discussions and from proposals made by users last week, to be voted on by the news heads.

The process will be quite simple. Below this comment will be a series of comments from me.

They will follow the format of…

    <Proposal Comment>

    • geordi-yes YES VOTE

    • geordi-no NO VOTE

If you agree with the proposal, upvote the comment with geordi-yes YES VOTE. If you disagree with the proposal, upvote the comment with geordi-no NO VOTE.

The voting margin to pass a proposal as approved shall be with a minimum floor of 36 upvotes, based on the rounded rough average of megathread upvotes of popular comments divided in half. Should a proposal be passed but prove to be controversial by also receiving a no vote of at least 26 votes, the proposal shall be tabled and reworked for presentation at a future megathread should the need arise.

Additionally, the floor will still be open to new proposals with a caveat that the minimum floor for acceptance for deliberation by the council of news mods shall be 31 upvotes. This is just in case someone is struck by the lightning of inspiration and wants to bring up an idea to shape the comm in a better direction.

    The polls are now open.

    Semper post, news hogs.

Edit: P.S, I know some of the proposals are kinda scuffed looking, if they pass I’ll format them so they look like the others on the rule sidebar. chalk it up to my laziness lol

Edit 2: P.P.S Pig poop balls.

The voting period shall last until the megathread is locked.

IDF says Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in Beirut strike - The Times of Israel.

It’s a direct link to the Times of Israel website.

Anyway, I hope they are wrong. Finkelstein had said in his recent interview that Iran knows if Hezbullah falls they will fall. To be frank, his saying is not far from the truth. If Iran sits on its bum and keep doing lip service it will end badly. Imagine a middle east with no opposing force to Israel, its hell.

I find it very striking how even the American elections have become just another sideshow.

There used to be a time where Trump was the main event, now whether he wins or not doesn’t even seem to have any real importance anymore.

Nothing he says can shock people when worse statements and actions have been made and taken by actors that the West openly supports.

Moody’s cuts Israel’s rating, warns of drop to ‘junk’

Sept 27 (Reuters) - Moody’s on Friday downgraded Israel’s credit rating two notches to “Baa1” from “A2” and maintained a negative outlook amid escalation of the conflict in the region with Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.

“The key driver for the downgrade is our view that geopolitical risk has intensified significantly further, to very high levels, with material negative consequences for Israel’s creditworthiness in both the near and longer term,” Moody’s said.

The downgrade kept Israel’s rating three notches into investment grade. However, Moody’s warned that uncertainties over the country’s security and its longer-term economic growth prospects “are much higher than is typical at the Baa rating level.” A drop below that level would mean Israel would lose its investment grade rating.

“The ratings would likely be downgraded further, potentially by multiple notches, if the current heightened tensions with Hezbollah turned into a full-scale conflict,” Moody’s said.

Typically, a loss of investment grade rating means a spike in the cost of servicing debt, and it could force some investors to sell their holdings - further pressuring lower the market price of Israel’s bonds.

Rating agency Fitch downgraded Israel’s credit rating to “A” from “A-plus” last month, and kept the rating outlook negative.

I normally feel very ashamed to be an American, but today it feels exceptionally so. If you don’t live in a country that is actively supporting this genocide, then consider yourself fortunate. It feels like shit being from this shithole. Death to America.

Hezbollah sources say Nasrallah safe following Israeli airstrikes

    Article

Hezbollah security sources have informed Press TV that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the resistance movement, is in a secure location and has not been harmed by the recent Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

This statement follows rumors circulating on social media suggesting that Nasrallah was targeted during the Israeli regime’s large aerial assault on the Dahiya neighborhood of southern Beirut on Friday.

Reports also said Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council was safe, with Iran’s Tasnim news agency citing informed sources in Lebanon as saying that no Hezbollah commander was martyred in the Israeli terrorist attacks.

Six buildings were razed to the ground as a result of the Israeli aggression on the southern suburb of Beirut.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry says at least two people have been martyred and 76 others injured in the attack.

The Israeli army radio said that F-35 aircraft carried out the aggression using bunker-buster bombs.

Israeli media reports said the regime had informed the United States of the attack shortly before it was carried out.

Lebanese media said civil defense personnel were working to extinguish the fire that broke out in the area and evacuate the injured.

Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati reacted to the attack, saying the international community must deter the Israeli enemy and stop its tyranny and the war of extermination it is waging against Lebanon.

Mikati said the Israeli attack shows the regime’s lack of interest in international calls for a ceasefire.

Renewed Israeli airstrikes target new parts of southern Beirut suburbs

    Article

In a series of escalations, Israeli occupation forces have launched renewed attacks on the southern suburb of Beirut. Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported multiple airstrikes targeting residential buildings in the al-Hadath and al-Lailaki areas, causing significant destruction.

At approximately 1 a.m. Israeli occupation warplanes executed a series of raids, specifically targeting residential buildings in al-Laylaki, al-Kafaat, Choueifat, Burj al-Barajneh, and al-Hadath.

This comes after the Israeli occupation military carried out, Friday, several airstrikes that hit residential neighborhoods in the Haret Hreik area in the Southern Suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut.

It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation’s spokesperson had made an announcement that further airstrikes would target Beirut’s suburbs and has condemned residents to forced displacement. Additionally, the targeted region continues to house thousands of Lebanese people as these attacks have remained unprecedented since 2006 when “Israel” invoked the Dahiye Doctrine.

The occupation forces’ statement claimed that Hezbollah was hiding weapons amongst civilian homes, but the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon released a statement denying any such claims. Hezbollah’s media office issued a statement noting it “denied the Israeli occupation’s false claims about the presence of weapons or weapons stores in the civilian buildings it targeted in the southern suburbs of Beirut at dawn on Saturday.”

Moreover, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent confirmed that there was no military activity in the areas targeted by the occupation, stressing that all the targets hit by the bombing were civilian and included residential buildings, in addition to the Ghandour factory for food industries.

In parallel, sirens have also sounded in the occupied city of Safad and its surrounding areas.

Iraqi Resistance conducts multiple operations against ‘Israel’

    Article

In a fourth operation against “Israel,” the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announces attacking, with drones, a vital target in the occupied Golan Heights.

In the third operation, drones of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked a vital target located in the north of occupied Palestine.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced a second operation against the Israeli occupation, this time against a military target located north of occupied Palestine.

In their first operation, the Resistance announced launching drones toward a vital target in the southern part of the occupied Palestinian territories.

In their statement, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq “confirms its continuation in striking the enemy’s strongholds with increasing intensity.”

It is important to note that the operations come in defense of Lebanon and Palestine as the Israeli genocidal war continues.

Iraqi Resistance conducts three operations against Israeli occupation yesterday

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced on Friday that it successfully struck a vital Israeli target in occupied Palestine using an advanced Al-Arqab cruise missile, as well as a military target in the occupied Syrian Golan using drones.

This brought the number of operations carried out by the Resistance, on that day, to a total of three. Only a few hours earlier, the Iraqi Resistance drone struck a target in the occupied Syrian Golan.

In a statement, the Iraqi Resistance affirmed that the operation came as part of its continued support of the people of Palestine and Lebanon, as well as “in response to the massacres committed by the aggressive entity against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.”

The Islamic Resistance reiterated its commitment to “striking the enemy’s strongholds with increasing intensity.”

I’m convinced 95 percent of the users on the Lebanon subreddit don’t actually live in Lebanon. (In fact many of them admit this already)

There’s no fucking way all the posts that are like “fuck Hezbollah for doing this” while Israel carpet bombs the country are legit . For lack of a better word that shit is so cucked there’s no way this isn’t all from people whose family moved out like 40-100 years ago

NBC claiming a Hezbollah spokesperson was on Iranian TV today saying that Nasrallah was not in the buildings struck and is fine.

This is from one of those scrolling news feeds with no added context or proof so take with a grain of salt. Hopefully true though
