the-pigs someone should remind the cops that they’re not exempt from being made fun of either.

it’s staggering how so many whites are out here looking for socially acceptable racism substitutes. millenial weirdos are doing racism for cats (r/oneorangebraincell, voidcats), dorks are doing fantasy racism with droids and elves, and some white guys here are still doing weird bits about Italians, Balkans, etc.

The cat thing pisses me off so much. I am unable to express how much I hate that some redditor will come up with a dumb joke like “all orange cats are goofy” and then it becomes an embedded, undeniable facet of reality for a staggering number of people when the joke explodes into a subreddit. Like, it’s not a joke for those people now. All orange cats are dumb and/or goofy or whatever. And this happens with so, so many things. Obviously this is a pretty innocuous manifestation of this phenomenon, but it’s the same mechanism of human thinking that leads to all manner of horrific, imagined interpretations of reality.

They’re always out there looking for an excuse to be hateful or coming up with ‘cutesy’ racist terms, food based ones are really common, any time a minority’s not treated as a dead slave that’s oppression to them and their little crumb, and while they Malkov chain microaggressions to hide the true colonial primitive capital accumulative root, said root is there even though they may or may not be aware of what they’re doing. Fuckers never stopped being racist, its just a little more hidden and ‘whimsical’.

I’m convinced that’s the reason a bunch of 40k fans are the way they are, especially Imperium fans. They get way too into the “persecute the xenos, mutant, and heretics” aspect of roleplay. Black Templar and Death Korps fans are the worst offenders (Deus Vult guys & Nazis respectively), not every single one is a chud but when someone says those are their favorites I get my hitler-detector ready.

I’ll just note I still do the Italian thing as an American in AmeriKKKa because Italian-Americans and chuds continue to fight for Columbus day. The day that Columbus Day is officially disavowed by that community is the day that I’ll quit doing the Mario voice in contempt. Until then, they’re the one group (and again, Italian Americans, not actual Italians) that it’s perfectly acceptable to be racist against. The day they disavow their genocidal guy will be the day I will refer to the meatball as spicy.

To make my thinking totally clear: you wanna venerate a genocidal freak, you don’t get the protections of anti-racism other groups are afforded. Instead, bullying.

What’s with this burning desire to have an instrumentalized slur for anything and everything? I mean I am not saying don’t use scornful, perjorative or even deragotary language but it can be a lot less specified while remaining targeted. It reminds me of how Anglophone countries have so many slurs all with some purposeful meaning while in most other countries a slur is often just an ignorant exonym that became crude and offensive to use or a generalized variant of foreigner or weakling or whatever.

  • Was anyone surprised by the usage of the word? like have you seen a single person using it, they 100% do it to be racist to black people but indirectly, also the George Floyd one has been a “meme” for like a few years now

Yeah the robo racism shit is obvious as fuck. The more insidious thing that has been going on much longer is how stereotypes about dog breeds (specifically pit bulls) being “genetically predisposed to violence” has been one way that eugenics and race science have wormed their way back into the liberal public consciousness since the 80s. Once someone can be convinced that behavioral traits can be endemic in ones genetic makeup it’s a very short leap for them to be convinced to apply that to humans.

Is anyone actually mad at the chatbots though? Seems more like people are making fun of these losers who think that their autocorrect bot is going to magically fix everything for them. This is giving me some major cardboard-monsters energy.

first of all she’s not an autocorrect bot, she’s my wife. you would do well to respect her. and secondly once she finalizes this speech she’s writing to send off to my ex boss about how its perfectly normal to get a little poop on the floor outside of the bathroom sometimes, i will have my job back and she will have fixed everything

…huh. I thought it was strange that a discord I’m a member of issued a new rule saying “anti-robot slurs based on real slurs are now banned, ‘clanker’ is still fine”, but I guess this explains it.

Yeah I remember when the word first popped up, it made me uneasy for reasons I couldn’t quite articulate even though I have no love for generative AI myself. In hindsight, I suppose it should’ve been obvious how roleplaying a socially acceptable variant of old-timey racism was a bad idea.

Screenshot of a tweet from Mister Keyrock (@MisterKeyrock) on August 31, 2025 at 1:43 PM. The tweet reads:

Hey so I was 100% correct about the “clanker” trend. Now you’ve got videos of dudes dressed at cops killing a robot and saying “sleep tight George Droid” and “back of the bus, Rosa Sparks” as well as racial dogwhistles about other ethnicities.

But who cares cuz “funny” right?

The tweet has 137 replies, 3.2K retweets, 28K likes, and 1.8K bookmarks.

Yeah, the first time I ever heard this used (innocently, as far as I could tell), half the replies were comments that were very excited to write “clanker” in place of the N-word.

If you are solely judged by the company you keep then techbros need to shut their mouth because of the cavalcade of pedophiles in their corner.
